I can't find Zupreem embrace plus anywhere  Tried to special order from 3 stores and nothing. I went into my regular pet store to pick it up ( because my bag is REALLY empty ) it did not come in last week and they did not even call me to let me know. Korbel says he IS NOT WEANING THIS WEEK.

I actually have an unopened bag of embrace plus. I'd send it to you if it would get there in time! :) :)

That is SO very nice of you, I am emailing a ton of stores trying to find the backorder date. Korbel ( 9 month BG ) won't starve  He will just think he has. Also, my store did have the unrecalled kaytee and he would eat that without an issue. Might want to save that bag.... some members here might be in real trouble with little babies that won't switch well. You might really be able to help someone if your not using that bag.

:hug8: :hug8: :hug8:SOOOO thank you though!!!!!!

I paid 27 at a local store for it. I would be willing to send it to any member that needs it, I only ask for the shipping cost :) Speak up if someone needs it! It is the 5lb bag and ex date is 7/12

That is so nice of you! Someone will take you up on that! If no one does, I will. I just think the shortage might really get someone in a bind more than I.

How about liquidfying his pellets into formula? When Mera was a baby, that's what I had to do with high potency fine Harrison pellets until I got my Harrison formula.

Harrison's makes an excellent handfeeding formula .. just don't think is widely available. If you get into a bind, I know Jo's carries Harrison's .. that's what they handfeed with.

If no one ends up needing it, PM me and I will take it. :D

:hehe: He will eat ANYTHING, he is not picky. Which is why I don't want to grab the last bag on AA if someone needs it more ;) Pellets, Wet pellets, veggies, I think he would eat dog poo if it came from a syringe.

Thanks Merlie! I have every pellet known to parrots at my house including harrisons. The zupreem naturals soak and smush the best! We tried harrisons formula months ago and he was not that keen on it. Not to say he would not eat it now, he does eat some harrisons pellets now. Worst case scenario I will buy a small bag of kaytee ( that crap is in the store ) He used to be on kaytee and we switched about four months ago. Jo's said backordered for weeks with zupreem. They were the first store I called when my ma/pa pet store told me my order never came in.

Have you ever thought about making your own? It is a lot of work but it can be done. I use Robbi Harris's formula from her book on hand feeding conures. I always keep the ingredients in stock here in food storage downstairs and then you just freeze it in ice cube trays and thaw when needed. If you are hand feeding very large numbers of birds it is a harder and you must cook every day. Powdered prepared formulas are so handy.

You know Katherine, If I had the chance to do Korbel all over again I would do so many things different. The only thing I would not change is finding this site. I would have made my own or at least used harrisons. I keep expecting my baby to wean but not yet :D Some days he eats tons and others 5cc's. The premade is too easy now. I would hate to go though making all of it and then... not today, or sorry, weaned now ;). He is nine months and really funny about being a baby still. Did you see his "feed me" video? OMG he would eat anything!

Yes, I saw that video and almost dropped my Mac! I come from "The Old Days" of bird keeping when all there was available was home made. Well, I think Roudybush was new. Raising a family and cooking bird formula got me up at 6 am every day. That was back when my breeding birds numbered 300 approx. Now I just am amazed at the energy I used to have. Your Macaw is a riot Sarah!!!!
As I remember it was cooked cereal, baby foods, powdered milk, peanut butter and lots more.....ground sunflower meal and vitamins.....eeegads, I can smell it now! It was yummy and raised so many birds successfully. I couldn't do it now. I like sleeping late.

A great "old day" bird friend of mine used to use monkey biscuits. When I purchased my "old time" macs, they had monkey chow in thier diet, YUCK! Korbel is a riot and WON'T starve anytime soon. He is just goofy 99% of the time.

The minute I heard the recall I went hunting for other formulas. I had Kaytee but mine was not on the recall list. Like you the ones I looked for...Hari (mazuri), higgins were back ordered. I did get two 5# bags of Zupreem Embrace Plus. I haven't opened either yet. I am feeding a 86 day old scarlet that has put himself down to one feeding a day and I really encourage a second. You are welcome to one of the bags as the other will last me for quite a while. Just let me know. I also have weening pellets that I put in hot water to soften (can use juice) and he loves those both wet and dry. Those are made by scenic.

AA is such a great place! Thanks Peggy! I have my favorite store checking his suppliers Monday, if in stock I will have it by Wed. I think we will be okay using up our kaytee until then. If the supplier has nothing and the backorder is long I may come back begging for that bag  Korbel is not to be reckoned with when hungry. That boy begs when full. So far, we are okay.

Making your own formula is a sinch if you use a pellet as a base. That's what I do every day for my birds. 50% pellets(Harrisons and TOPs), and then the rest sweet potatoe and squash, greens and sprouts, mango too! It's good stuff. Blended together, heated to 102F. They love the "slop":D

OMG, I can not make more bird food in a day. I agree, easy peasy. AHHHH. Remember, I feed birds all morning, go to work and feed birds, come home and feed birds, go back to work and feed birds. Chop, pellets, handfeeding, chop pellets handfeeding, I make birdie bread, and share my lunch. I soak pellets in yum yum and I WANT MY PREMADE FORMULA. When Korbel was sick I made puree bliss, now he eats his veggies like a big boy :D

It only take 5 minutes;). I do it during the time I prep the fresh stuff. So it takes 10 minutes total until birds have it.

Blend it, put in tubaware for the evening, and I give fresh in the morning.

I stop making bird cooked foods(still make birdie bread, just not beans, cook veggies or the like) as they will just eat my cooked food(which is healthy).

It's yours if you can't get the other. :) We do not like unhappy birds no matter their age!

Darn - too bad you didn't contact me. I just sold my last 10# bag on Friday :(

Actually, Zupreem is out of stock because they are having issues with their formula - not like Kaytee - it has something to do with the consistency. They should be making it again in about 3 weeks. I do have some of the Zupreem Embrace left if that will work for you.

I also carry Harrison's. Let me know. You get a 10% discount for being an AA member. :)
